I currently have a Whole Life policy, after some limited research, and discussions with friends, thought I wanted out, but my insurance guy is now responded with this, and now I am just not sure.
My good friend had a similar Whole Life policy from the same insurance salesman guy; after he did some research he decided to drop his policy, and chase other investment options. I picked his brain, and he sent me a few r/personalfinances and r/investing posts on how there are better, smarter, ways to invest. Did some preliminary research myself, and decided to drop mine. Worth also noting that I already have a decent amount of insurance set up from my father. So, really, this policy is 100% an ...
So to make this post short while sharing as much as I can, I'll only post what I specifically remember. The dream started off on the usual weird anxiety trip; for some reason I was friends with my most recent ex's friends and they wanted to hang out right next to her (my ex's) house. I remember feeling anxious in the dream if I were to see her. It was very strange, I'm not acquainted with her friends. So we're sitting in the car waiting and some stranger gets in and the car got pretty packed. ...

Converting your term life insurance policy into a whole life policy may not be the wisest financial move. Learn why.
**Some background** * Parents opened a Whole Life Paid Up 65 policy for me when I was young, premium isn't a budget-breaker at $75 / month * Prior to the call, I decided to keep the policy (in case I'm uninsurable or much more expensive to insure in the future * I had a call with my financial advisor through NM today because I recently took ownership of the policy and wanted to hear what they had to say * At this point in the policy (my parents ate a lot of the initial cost), I'm guaranteed...

I got TPP as soon as it was free for PS+ members, after a whole life of never experiencing any other Metal Gear game.
All I know is that, if at first I was kinda confused on what is going on with the overall story and lore, after spending about two hours reading fan-theories and critiques and reviews from two years ago (and recent ones too), I am now **much more confused** than before and just barely think I grasp what is really going on. Really, **really** great game though. Gameplay is 11/10 and I'm enjoying the fuck out of sneaking around Afghanistan and going loud once *that one guard* notices me from half...
[TOMT] [comic] A man has a gun to a kids head and a woman says that he has a chip in his head where if he dies his brain makes up a whole life for him in that split second, only to win and realize her chip went off and she is in that dream state.
The woman has brown curly-ish hair. The guy who took the kid hostage eventually dies. Kid has no blood on him so she knows that she is living in her chip. It is in an alley. Any help would be appreciated.
I've been lurking here for a few weeks now and I wanted to share a story about my nephew. My nephew was involved in a whole life insurance MLM for about 3-4 years during 2010. Started off trying to recruit family and friends. If you didn't join his bottom line, he would try to sell you the horrible whole life insurance plans. He was able to get about a team of 5-6 poor souls. There was never a day where he would not post pictures of him and his team in "meetings". Giving away trophy and certifi...
In 2010 my mom had passed away and I had received life insurance money from her. I was persuaded by her friend and my brother to invest 60K into a whole term life insurance policy. The goal was that by the time I retire, it would of been worth 300-400K and that I could of cashed out. In 2015, I had taken out a loan against my life insurance policy, for 53K, and in 2016-2017 I had taken out an additional 1800 as a loan. The loan has an interest rate of 5% I want to cancel my insurance policy,...
(New account since my original one is too intertwined with personal details to feel safe, I will be more than happy to provide mods my original nickname) I will keep this short, since I don't feel I have the strength to go into details yet. I seriously just need to get this off my chest. I am 39M, and after a lifetime of moving from country to country, changing partners as groups of friends and suffering from a devastating relationship with my uBPD mom and my eDAD I just got the full RBB bom...
(update)I(30m) just found out my girlfriend(28) of a year+ had a whole life I knew nothing about, right as I was ring shopping. Advice?
https://www.reddit.com/r/relationships/comments/3dcgt4/i30m_just_found_out_my_girlfriend28_of_a_year_had/ I spoke to her the day after. She told me she had wanted to tell me for a while, but didn't know where to start-- that she thought about Sam everyday but at the same time didn't know how to begin. She pulled out a shoe box from her closet and she showed me the pictures. Pictures of her wedding, this propped up little thing at the courthouse, her in a short white dress with a slight stomach...
I unknowingly(?) started a whole life policy 4 months ago, and I think I want out. Is it a good idea?
Hi guys, I started talking with a Northwestern mutual rep about four months ago and after their whole pitch, I was only interested in their long term disability insurance and so that is all I thought I agreed on. I remember expressing some interest in whole life because they made it seem like a really good idea, but I THOUGHT I ultimately decided to not do it. Now looking at my account, I am signed up for "65 life" and I have made four monthly payments of about $230. I will admit there is a chan...
Never knew this was a real thing. Always thought I was crazy for building a whole life (and many, many people) inside my head.
I'm 26, and for most of my life, I've had what I'd always thought of (shamefully) as "imaginary friends" who didn't go away as the years went by; in fact they got more lifelike and independent, having their own identities and thoughts distinct from my own. It started in elementary, when I was very isolated from bullying and having few friends. At first there were four, male friends, soon joined by a girl. I enjoyed music a lot (still do), so we formed a band in my head and "played" for the sc...
Whole life insurance is a way to invest in your life, with guaranteed protection for your loved ones in the event of your death. Plus, you can build cash value.
In March of this year I purchased a $100,000 whole life insurance policy from New York Life for my mother who is 58 years old (Born in March). The annual premium is $3776 which I paid off up front for this year. Here is the [payoff table](https://imgur.com/ajlcAHX). Did I make a mistake getting this policy? I felt as if it was worth it because my mother only has $20k-$40k to her name and many of her expenses from now until she passes are my responsibility. This will help shield me from the blow ...
I know that there's a tendency to focus on babies and children in this sub but I feel we would benefit from a more macro whole life perspective. I've said something similar before, that we need to stop calling what parents do "creating children" since childhood is only a very small portion \(0\-12 years\) of the average person's life—providing they live to the average life expectancy. The age categories are roughly as follows: * 0\-12 years \- Childhood * 13\-18 years \- Adolescence * 18\-25 ye...

I have been dating the most amazing woman for the past year and a half. I have been in puppy love before, the kind where they're all you can think about and you smile when you think of them - and we have that too- but she has also brought to me the joy of being together but not together (that magnificent way you can just be and be alone in the same room- her reading a book, me doing a project) and really knowing someone (knowing how her mouth crinkles when she thinks, the way the rain makes her ...

Have a Whole Life Policy from when I was a kid. What do I do with it?
My dad bought a whole life insurance policy on me when I was a child. I'm now almost 30, and the annual premium is only something like $150 a year, which adds to the cash value. It now shows as a Modified Endowment Contract with a Cash Value of around $5800 and a death benefit of 46k. The policy was also written to allow me the option to purchase a paid up additions rider. I haven't looked into the cost of "purchasing" this rider and I'm not sure if it's even worth it. The policy is with NY...
